China Customs Announcement 56: More shipment info required from 01 Jun 2018

Chinese Customs Announcement No. 56 comes into effect on 1st June 2018.

The following shipment information is now required: 

1. Shipper’s and Consignee’s full contact details, including contact telephone number for shipper and consignee.

2. Valid commodity name. See examples in the attachment below.

3. Company identification number, e.g. European VAT number for shipper and Chinese business registration number of consignee (USCC), see list in the attachment below.

The airline is responsible for providing all needed information to Chinese authorities at least 4 hours prior to flight arrival. Missing information can even result in the return of the shipment to the origin.
