New thrice weekly route to Los Angeles LAX with A350 begins 31st March 2019
The summer season starting 31st March 2019 sees a new route to Los Angeles with three weekly frequencies on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (days 2,4,7).
Los Angeles will be Finnair's fifth US destination, alongside New York, Chicago, Miami and San Francisco.
The new LAX route is operated with the wide-body A350, so payload for cargo is expected to be close to 20,000 kg.
It will be Finnair’s first destination in the United States permanently operated with the new next-generation Airbus A350 aircraft and is note-worthy for the flight numbers AY001 and AY002.
- AY1 departs Helsinki 16:40, arriving in Los Angeles at 17:40
- AY2 departs Los Angeles 19:50, arriving in Helsinki at 16:05 (+1).
During summer 2019, Finnair will fly to California 7 days a week following the addition of a fourth weekly flight to San Francisco (SFO) in May. There is also the return of a daily frequency to Chicago (ORD).
