COOL is the name of the world’s newest air cargo terminal
The investment of €80M in our new cargo terminal in Helsinki is driven by our goal to be the world’s best air cargo airline bridging Asia with Europe. Our new hub underlines our commitment to expertise in careful and speedy handling of temperature-sensitive, high-value cargo flying between East and West.
Powered by the best new technology
The COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki airport, opened in 2018, is the best example in Europe of how robotics and intelligent warehouse automation can target and improve efficiency in air freight. We are moving to a paperless, more efficient digital future and the best new technology supports that journey because it uses data to steer people and tasks.
Designed for speed, precision and temperature control
Large dedicated temperature-controlled areas for general cargo, perishables and pharmaceuticals are designed with capacity for growth. COOL is located next to wide-body aircraft stands, which means sensitive goods leave only 30 minutes before departure. Cargo Eye is a live monitoring tool that tracks the arrival of shipments to improve readiness.
Monitored 24/7 by digital tools and experts
Teams of experts monitors the journey of every plane and truck, and the temperature of every piece of sensitive cargo from the COOL Control Center, thanks to digital temperature sensors and geolocation technology. Temperature-sensitive cargo is continually monitored and correctly handled, and COOL supports the promise we make our customers.
