Temporary embargo on AVI shipments from 17 March and info for perishable cargo customers

Due to exceptional operational circumstances we unfortunately have to set a temporary embargo on live animal (AVI) shipments.

However, if a Finnish national or person living permanently in Finland is returning to Finland with AVI, it will be accepted (also as cargo shipment). In this case contact our Cargo Support Team in Finland.

The embargo is valid immediately from 17 March and until further notice.

For perishable cargo such as PER, PES, PEM and PIL we would like our customers to be aware that there might be cancellations with short notice as Finnair is cancelling flights gradually at the moment.

Additionally, governments are setting restrictions for passengers, which may lead to a situation where Finnair has to further adjust or cancel some additional routes.

In case of such cancellation we may not be able to transport shipments in accordance with booking or even handle perishables as specified by industry standards.

In this force majeure situation, we kindly ask our customers to carefully consider the related risks.

We expect to have a more stable view in approximately two weeks.
